Nanotechnology - Nanoparticle Characterization

BlazeTech offers characterization services for particles smaller than 2 microns. Samples can be analyzed as single component spheres (size distribution), coated spheres (shell thickness distribution), ellipsoids (cross sectional size and aspect ratio distribution), cylinders (diameter and aspect ratio distribution) and fractal agglomerates. Parametric studies can be performed to determine the effect of sample preparation procedure (e.g., dispersion medium, surfactants, pH, and sonication) on particle dispersion behavior. Accurate morphological characterization of fine particles is expected to yield significant performance enhancement in a number of applications including pharmaceuticals (e.g., nanodrugs), cosmetics, electronics, heat exchangers, ceramics, nanocomposites, etc.

We have developed the following instruments for fine particle characterization:

Sample applications and results:

We have also used nanoparticles to impart specific properties to fluids. See some of our example projects.
